Michael Binnewies

Michael Binnewies (born January 21, 1947 in Hagen- Haspe ) is a German chemist. He taught at the University of Münster , at the Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg and is a professor at the Leibniz University of Hanover (Institute for Inorganic Chemistry).

Binnewies studied chemistry in Münster from 1966 to 1971. In 1973 he received his doctorate there under Harald Schäfer on gaseous halide complexes . In 1985 he completed his habilitation in Münster and was then a private lecturer there. In 1988 he became professor in Freiburg and from 1992 professor in Hanover.

He is mainly concerned with chemistry in the gas phase ( chemical transport ), reactive molecules, high temperature reactions , thermodynamics and mass spectrometry.
