Michael Bräuninger

Michael Bräuninger (* 1960 in Bremerhaven ) is a German economist .

Life

Bräuninger studied economics at the Universities of Münster , Edinburgh and Hamburg . After completing his doctorate with an empirical thesis at the University of Hamburg , he moved to the Helmut Schmidt University and completed his habilitation there in 1999. Between 2006 and 2014, he was head of the economic forecast at the Hamburg Institute for Economic Research ( HWWI ) and worked as a research director on numerous studies long-term global future trends and their economic effects on the German economy.

He is the owner and head of Economic Trends Research and a professor at Helmut Schmidt University. His research area includes cyclical and long-term economic analyzes. He deals with global as well as national and regional developments.
