Michael Choumnos

Michael Choumnos ( Middle Greek Μιχαήλ Χούμνος , also Chumnos or Chumnus , * 11th century ; † 12th century ) was a Middle Byzantine cleric and canonist. He is documented as Chartophylax or Nomophylax at the Hagia Sophia of Constantinople in July 1121 and was Archbishop or Metropolitan of Thessaloniki in January 1122 . He died in 1133 at the latest. He wrote (partly still unedited) writings on marriage law and the practice of fasting.
