Michael Claus

Michael Claus (born February 25, 1960 in Rüdersdorf near Berlin ) is a German politician ( DVU ). From 1999 to 2009 he was a member of the Brandenburg State Parliament and deputy chairman of the DVU parliamentary group .

Life

Claus trained as a machining technician (lathe operator / milling cutter) between 1976 and 1978 and worked as a lathe operator until 1990. From 1991 to 1997 he worked as a machinist and from 1997 as a foreman at the Rüdersdorf cement works.

Claus has been a member of the Brandenburg state board of the DVU since 1993 and has been its deputy chairman since 1997. In the state parliament elections in September 1999 , the DVU received 5.3% of the second vote. Claus became a member of the Brandenburg state parliament and at the same time deputy chairman of the DVU state parliament group. During the 3rd electoral term (1999–2004) he was deputy chairman of the Committee on Agriculture, Environmental Protection and Spatial Planning and a member of the Committees for Budgetary Control and Home Affairs. In the 2004 state elections , Claus was able to move into the state parliament again via his party's state list. In the 4th electoral term (2004–2009) he again represented his group in the committees for budgetary control and home affairs. In 2009 the DVU clearly missed the 5% hurdle, so Claus left the state parliament.
