Michael Dinner (musician)
Michael Dinner (* 1974 in Zurich ) is a Swiss pan flutist , pan flute maker and music publisher . He runs his own pan flute school and has worked with pan flutists such as Simion Radu, Damian Luca , Vasile Iovu and Cornel Pana.
Life
The recordings of Gheorghe Zamfir made Michael Dinner aware of the pan flute. In 1993 he got to know the pan flute maker Thierry Tutellier, from whom he learned a lot about pan flute construction. In 1995 he was employed by the city of Opfikon as a pan flute teacher. In 1997, Dinner took over the production of the Tutelliers pan flute workshop. Dinner has been a professional musician ever since. At his concerts he plays music from Romania , the land of the Nai pan flute . Romanian folklore can also be heard on his CD From romania with love , which he recorded in Holland.
During this time, Dinner was able to benefit from Dan Herford . Together with him he has been organizing the international Swiss pan flute seminar on a regular basis since 2000. The guests are world-famous pan flutists such as Damian Luca, Simion Radu, Cornel Pana or Vasile Iovu, who were able to pass on a lot to him. Since spring 2002 he has been teaching children and adults from the district in his studio for the Bülach music school.
At the International Panflute Festival Fanica Luca 2003 in Romania, Michael Dinner received an award from the expert jury and he performed accompanied by the orchestra of Marin Alexandru. At the 2006 L'Esprit de Fanica Luca Festival in Bucharest , he received third prize in his category and played at a gala concert with the orchestra of Gheorghe Popa Cununa Carpatilor . In 2008 he released the first live recordings with the organist Kiyomi Higaki. He attended master classes with Gheorghe Zamfir. He completed his second education at the ZHDK in music education in the subject pan flute and is a member of the SMPV (Swiss Music Education Association)
