Michael Eisen

Michael B. Eisen (born April 13, 1967 ) is an American biologist .

Life

Eisen received his PhD from Harvard University in 1996 from the University of Chicago . He has worked at the University of California, Berkeley and the Howard Hughes Medical Institute since 2005 . He investigates how microorganisms influence the behavior of living things.

As a supporter of Open Access, Eisen co-founded the Public Library of Science . In 2002 he received the Benjamin Franklin Award .
