Michael Habermann

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Michael Habermann (born February 24, 1955 in Elversberg ) is a German politician ( SPD ).

Habermann, who has been a member of the SPD since 1972, was a social worker by profession and as such an administrative clerk in the Saarland Ministry of Social Affairs and Family. In the 1990 Bundestag election , he was initially unsuccessful on the state list. But since Oskar Lafontaine did not accept his mandate, he moved up for him. The focus of his political work in parliament was financial and family policy. He was in charge of developing a concept for the further development of the uniform child benefit towards a contribution-financed basic child benefit, which, however, was not pursued. Habermann was a member of the Bundestag until 1994.
