Michael Hitt

Michael Alford Hitt (* 1946 ) is an American economist and university professor.

Career, research and teaching

Hitt graduated from Texas Tech University , where he received his BBA in 1968 and his MBA a year later . He then graduated in 1974 with a Ph.D. at the University of Colorado .

From 1974 Hitt taught at Oklahoma State University , first as an assistant then as an associate professor . Appointed Professor of Management in 1982, he moved to the University of Texas at Arlington in 1983 . In 1985 he went to Texas A&M University , before he accepted an appointment at Arizona State University in 2000 . In 2003 he returned to Texas A&M University.

Hitt's area of ​​expertise lies in the area of organizational behavior . As a car and co-author, he has contributed to over 25 books on the subject and published numerous magazine articles.

Hitt is a member of several scientific organizations. He served as President of the Strategic Management Society and the Academy of Management ; at the latter he was inducted into the of Management Journals' Hall of Fame . He also received several awards for his work.
