Michael JG Gleissner

Michael JG Gleissner (* 1969 in Regensburg ) is a German businessman, film producer and photographer.

Life

At the age of 18 he founded ArtData System GmbH in Regensburg . In 1991, together with Ulrike Stadler , he founded the company Telebuch.de in Regensburg , which initially sold books via BTX and from 1996 via the Internet. They outsourced the web host WWW-Service GmbH .

In 1996 he moved to the USA. In April 1998 they sold Telebuch to Amazon.com , where he served as vice president for two years. Verio Inc., (later NTT) took over the web host.

In 1999 he founded the Cleverlearn company together with the Dornier family . In the same year he organized and ran a hedge fund which had a return of 114% in 2001 and 45% in 2002.

In September 2001, while on a business trip in Cebu , he decided to stay in the Philippines . In 2001 he founded Bigfoot Ventures, LLC, formerly known as LB Invest Ventures Capital Partners. Bigfoot Ventures, a private venture capital fund investing in high technology companies in the United States and Asia.

May 2002 he increased his stake in United Internet AG from 6% to 10%. On February 25, 2005, he sold his stake in United Internet AG.

Gleissner was also known for his underwater photographs, for which he found recognition in numerous specialist magazines. Characteristic for these recordings are models who were photographed in surreal scenes under the surface of the water.
