Career

Northampton Town

Michael Jacobs, who came from his own youth academy, made his debut for Northampton Town on October 6, 2009 in a 2-1 home win in the Football League Trophy game . He played his first league game in the fourth-rate Football League Two on August 7, 2010 in a 3-0 away defeat against Torquay United . Jacobs (41 league games / 5 goals) established himself as a regular player in 2010/11 and ended the season with his team in 16th place in the table. After a close relegation in the subsequent season, he decided against a contract extension in Northampton and a club change.

Derby County

On June 26, 2012 Michael Jacobs was committed by Derby County and equipped with a three-year contract with the second division club.
