Michael Jastram (born June 29, 1953 in Berlin ) is a German sculptor .

Life

Michael Jastram was born in 1953 in Berlin as the son of the sculptor Jo Jastram . After evening studies from 1976 to 1978 at the Kunsthochschule Berlin-Weißensee in the field of sculpture, he studied there from 1979 to 1984 in the sculpture / sculpture section and graduated with a diploma. Since then he has been working as a freelance sculptor in Berlin. His studio is in Berlin-Wedding.

After completing his studies, he applied for expatriation from Berlin / East to Berlin / West, which was only approved in the year of the “turning point”. Jastram is married and has one son.

Study trips took the artist to Italy, France, Denmark (project “Grundsmögle Kirke”), the USA, Scotland and Japan. After working as a freelance sculptor at the Deutsche Oper Berlin , Jastram became an artistic trainer for theater sculptors at this house in 1992. In 2003 he was also a lecturer in plastic at Artschool-International, Berlin.
