reception

In 2006 the art historian Helga Baudis called Fretwurst a “veritable painter, draftsman and graphic artist. [...] His life's work reveals that someone has always worked close to reality, respectfully close to nature and especially close to the seashore. As a silent observer who knows how to look deeply and who is not satisfied with the superficial, he tirelessly tries to find a form that suits him for the carefully perceived images. "
