Emerita Pansowová , née Molnárová (* 1946 in Vrakúň , Czechoslovakia) is a German-Slovakian sculptor who has lived in Berlin since 1967 and has created numerous sculptures for public spaces.

Life

Until she was 21, she grew up in Czechoslovakia with her parents in Bratislava . 1962–1966 she studied wood carving at the School of Applied Arts in Bratislava . Her teachers were L. Korkoš and A. Drexler. In 1964 she met the graphic artist Jürgen Pansow , married him in 1966 and the couple moved to East Berlin . Here she continued her artistic training at the Berlin-Weißensee School of Art with Karl-Heinz Schamal and Arnd Wittig . Then Pansowová became a master student of Ludwig Engelhardt at the Academy of Arts of the GDR . After obtaining her diploma, she was able to produce numerous commissioned works for districts in East Berlin. She has been a freelance artist since 1990, working in stone, with bronze and experimenting with other materials. She is friends with the sculptor Wieland Schmiedel and the painter Heidrun Hegewald . In 1980 Emerita Pansowová met Gabriele and Susanne Mucchi and their friends.

  • 2011: Mother with child , sandstone figure, in front of the entrance to the church in Biesenthal; the 250 kg heavy sculpture is part of a new sculpture trail.

    As part of the International Sculpture Symposium Stones Without Borders , organized by the city of Bernau near Berlin in 2011, she created a roughly structured human figure from shell limestone based on her own template from gneiss .
  • 1995/2012: Gret Palucca : bronze, 45 cm tall, location Nationalgalerie Berlin .
    For the Mitte district, Pansowová made a life-size sculpture of the famous artist based on the figure mentioned here. On the initiative of the Poll Art Foundation and with financial help from the DGB , this was set up in January 2012 on the Garrison Church Square.
    This sculpture was then loaned to the newly established Palucca Foundation and erected on the university campus in Dresden .
