history

The four seasons in the Heinz-Graffunder-Park

The park was created in the 1980s in the Marzahn residential district Südspitze and extends from the Allee der Kosmonauten, Marchwitzastraße to Eugen-Roth-Weg. There is a football field , table tennis tables, a water playground, a small climbing tower and several playgrounds in the park . There are also many different sculptures, such as The Four Seasons . The park was given the name Heinz-Graffunder-Park on December 9, 2004 on the occasion of the tenth anniversary of Heinz Graffunder’s death .

As part of urban redevelopment in the east , two school buildings in Eugen-Roth-Weg 18/20 were demolished in 2004. The vacated area was only unsealed in 2005 , after which the topsoil was applied and a fence was put in place. A temporary area was created with 20 grave land parcels, all of which are completely leased.
