Gerhard Hückstädt

Gerhard Hückstädt (born January 2, 1944 ) is a German judge .

Life

Hückstädt in 1971 at the University of Kiel with the dissertation The executor in German law of the Middle Ages to the doctor of law doctorate . In 1971 he became a probationary judge at the Kiel Regional Court , in 1974 he was seconded to the Schleswig-Holstein Ministry of Justice and from 1976 to 1979 he was a research assistant at the Federal Court of Justice in Karlsruhe . After returning to Schleswig-Holstein, he was a judge at the Schleswig-Holstein Higher Regional Court (OLG) in Schleswig and from 1983 to 1988 seconded to the Ministry of Justice before he was appointed presiding judge at the OLG.

Hückstädt left Schleswig-Holstein in February 1991 and went to Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania . There he was first President of the Rostock District Court and from 1992 President of the Rostock District Court . During this time he was involved in building a functioning judiciary based on the rule of law. From November 1995 he was elected President of the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania Constitutional Court for twelve years by the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania State Parliament . On February 2, 2009, he received his discharge certificate and retired .

Hückstädt is involved with the Rotary Club and the German Multiple Sclerosis Society , among others .
