Maximilian Barck

Maximilian "Max" Barck , also called Maksimilijan Bark (born April 30, 1962 in Rostock , † January 15, 2013 in Berlin ), was a German writer and editor .

Life

Barck lived in Berlin since 1968. He studied at the German Literature Institute in Leipzig .

In 1985 he founded the artist group “Maldoror” in East Berlin and then worked as an author and editor of the original graphic magazine “Herzattacke”. After German reunification in 1991, the artist group “Herzattacke” emerged from “Maldoror” , which he registered in 1992 under this name. From then on he worked under the label "Edition Maldoror" as the editor of numerous publications by well-known authors.

Hartmut Andryczuk saw in his personal obituary Barck's preference for surrealist and neo- surrealist authors. From his point of view, his work was "an extensive edition work". The artist group "Heart Attack" received the Victor Otto Stomps Prize of the City of Mainz in 2005 . Gerd Sonntag attested him on his website adaponte.de a “deep hole” due to his passing away . From his point of view, Lothar Klünner , Gert Neumann , Wolfgang Hilbig , Lothar Böhme and others helped Barck. Sonntag dedicated an etching to him in Palmbaum , issue 1/2013. André Schinkel wrote an obituary in the magazine Marginalien - magazine for book art and bibliophilia of the Pirckheimer Society .

Their marriage to his wife resulted in common children.
