Michael Kleyer

Michael Kleyer (* 1955 ) is a German agricultural biologist . Kleyer is professor of landscape ecology at the University of Oldenburg .

Life

Michael Kleyer studied agricultural biology at the University of Hohenheim, where he also obtained his doctorate and qualified as a professor in 1997 in the fields of landscape ecology and landscape planning. After working at the University of Stuttgart, he accepted a position at the University of Rostock. From 1996 to 1999 he was professor for site studies and landscape ecology. Kleyer has been Professor of Landscape Ecology and Environmental Planning in Oldenburg since 1999.

Kleyer works primarily in vegetation science and is head of the BMBF research project COMTESS on the adaptability of coastal landscapes on the North and Baltic Seas to climate change.
