Michael Komorek (2017)

Michael Komorek (* 1964 ) is a German pedagogue and professor for physics didactics at the Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg and spokesperson for the doctoral program GINT - Learning in Informal Spaces . He also works at the Didactic Center as Vice Director for Research.

Life

He studied physics, computer science and astrophysics at the University of Kiel from 1984 to 1991 and graduated with a diploma in experimental solid-state physics. This was followed by a doctorate in the field of physics didactics at the Institute for Science Education (IPN). He graduated in 1997 with the degree of Dr. rer. nat. from.

In his empirically oriented dissertation, he examined the nature of science ideas of schoolchildren in the field of determinism and structure formation. During his habilitation from 1997 to 2003 at the University of Kiel in the field of learning and teaching processes for nonlinear physics, he also worked as a research assistant at the IPN.

From 1991 to 2003 he taught physics, mathematics and computer science at a secondary school in Kiel.

He started his work as a university lecturer in 2003/04 with a substitute professorship at the TU Dortmund , before moving to the Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg as a professor (W2) for physics didactics in 2006.

With interruptions, he has been working at the Didactic Center for Teacher Education since 2008 as Vice Director for teacher training-related research and temporarily held the position of Dean of Studies in the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences.
