Michael Kretz

Michael Kretz (* 1966 ) is an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and management consultant. Kretz was a member of the Salzburg state parliament from 2004 to 2009 .

Kretz graduated from the Kleßheim Tourist Academy in 1985 and was employed by Wiener Städtische Versicherung from 1990 to 2006 . He has been working as an independent management consultant since 2007.

Kretz was a local councilor in Golling from 1999 to 2000 and was deputy mayor from 2000 to 2002. He was elected district chairman of the SPÖ Tennengau in 2002 and has been Vice President of the Social Democratic Economic Association of Salzburg and a delegate to the economic parliament since 2005. On April 28, 2004, Kretz was sworn in as a member of the Salzburg state parliament and, as area spokesman, took over the agendas of health and hospitals in the SPÖ state parliament club. For the state elections in 2009 he was ranked second on the Tennengau SPÖ list, behind Governor Gabriele Burgstaller. In 2008, Kretz was also part of the SPÖ team for government negotiations. but renounced his mandate after the election. He left the state parliament on April 22, 2009 and left politics to move to a management position at a private Austrian company.
