Michael Penfold

Michael Penfold-Becerra is a lecturer and board member of the IESA, the Instituto de Estudios Superiores de Administración in Caracas , Venezuela. He is co-author of several books on international economic relations, administration, and political economy in Latin America.

Penfold studied at Columbia University, where he received his PhD in 1999. He was director of the Venezuelan Investment Council CONAPRI from 1999 to 2003 . In 2005 he was Edward Laroque Tinker visiting professor at the Institute of Latin American Studies ILAS at Columbia University. In 2008 he was a Distinguished Visitor at the University of Southern California .
