Michael Praßl

Michael Praßl (born September 15, 1955 in Feldbach ) is an Austrian farmer , politician ( ÖVP ) and former member of the Austrian National Council .

education and profession

Michael Praßl attended the elementary school in Lödersdorf from 1962 to 1966 and then switched to the secondary school in Feldbach until 1969. From 1970 to 1972 Praßl graduated from the agricultural college in Hatzendorf and passed the master craftsman examination. He has been working as a farmer since 1985. 1999 to October 2000 construction of the most modern seed oil press in Europe together with two partners.

politics

Michael Praßl came to politics through his parents and the farmers' union and was Vice Mayor of the community of Lödersdorf between 1985 and 1990. In 1991 he became a member of the chamber council of the regional chamber for agriculture and forestry in Styria Graz and in 1996 a committee member in the presidential conference of the Austrian chambers of agriculture in Vienna, in the field of rural areas and local politics. In 2001 he was elected deputy chairman of the Feldbach district chamber. Between December 20, 2002 and October 28, 2013 he represented the ÖVP in the National Council.

Private

Michael Praßl has been married since 1978 and has two daughters and a son. From 1980 to 1988 he was the main fire inspector of the Lödersdorf volunteer fire department.
