Mikhail Alexandrowitsch Jewstafjew ( Russian Михаил Александрович Евстафьев ; * 1963 in Moscow ) is a Russian painter , photographer and writer .

Influenced by the work of his mother, grandmother and great-grandfather, all three sculptors, he began painting at an early age, but then decided to study journalism at Lomonosov University . In the 1980s he served in the Afghan War , about which he later published the novel Two Steps from Heaven . He later worked as a war correspondent for international news agencies in various trouble spots.

As a photographer, he also devoted himself to the Impressionist topography, particularly his work on Cuba, Orthodox Old Believers in Romania and his personal stay in London.

His paintings and photographs have been exhibited in various exhibition spaces around the world: in the State Kremlin Palace, in the Moscow Manege and in the House of the Artist , in the Vienna Hofburg Congress Center, and in the Grand Central Terminal in New York. His work is in private collections in Austria, Great Britain, France, Poland, Russia and the United States.
