Mikhail Valeryevich Sorokin ( Russian Михаил Валерьевич Сорокин; born August 1, 1981 in Ufa ) is a Russian - Kazakh orienteer ski runner .

Sorokin won the 2001 Long Distance Bronze for Russia at the Junior World Championships. In 2009 he took part in the World Active Championship in Japan. At that time he was the Russian champion in sprint and long distance. He finished 12th in the World Championship long distance race. He started for Kazakhstan at the 2011 World Cup . He finished eighth in the sprint and long distance, as well as in the relay. In the mixed team competition he was sixth with Olga Nowikowa . At the Winter Asian Games 2011 in Kazakhstan, he won all three individual decisions by a clear margin, as well as in the relay with Alexandr Babenko and Aslan Tokbajew . At the first Asian Championships in 2012, he also won all three individual decisions and also won the mixed team competition with Olga Nowikowa.
