Microchimica Acta , or Microchim for short . Acta is a scientific journal published by Springer-Verlag. Alberto Escarpa (University of Alcala) and Mamantos Prodromidis (University of Ioannina) act as Editors-in-Chief as successors to Prof. Otto S. Wolfbeis (University of Regensburg). The journal first appeared in 1937. In 1938 it was merged with the journal Mikrochemie . It is currently published in twelve editions (with a total of around 900 articles) per year. Articles are published that mainly deal with (bio) chemical analytical methods using micro- and nanomaterials. They mainly describe electrochemical and optical determination methods and sensors, as well as methods for enrichment, separation and (micro) extraction ( including molecular imprinting ).

The impact factor in 2019 was 6.232. According to the statistics from Clarivate Analytics, the journal with this impact factor ranks ninth out of 74 journals in the analytical chemistry category.
