Entrances

The entrances include:

  • Kavkna Jama (M2), explored in 1972, the highest entrance at 1,861 m above sea level
  • M16, explored in 1982
  • Jama Strgane Srajce (M18), explored in 1994
  • Vrtnarija, first used in 2000
  • Vilinska Jama, explored in 2008
  • Primadona, explored in 1999
  • Monthip, explored in 2007

exploration

Most of the research was carried out by the cave department of the Tolmin Mountaineering Club ( Jamarska Sekcija Planinskega društva Tolmin ), which has been supported by the Imperial College Caving Club since 1994 .

In 1996 a connection between the Kavkna Jama (M2), Jama Strgane Srajce (M18) and M16 caves was discovered, which is the origin of the Migovec system, which was then explored to a depth of 970 m. In 2008 an exploration of the Vilinska Jama led to the direct connection to the Vrtnarija , which was connected to the Migovec system on August 13, 2012 at a depth of 650 m.

Primadona and MONTIP , two entrances on the west side of Migovec Plato, form a cave that was first explored in 1999. The cave had previously been explored for 2.7 km, and at the end of 2015 it was connected to the Migovec system at a depth of 180 m.
