Migration Office
The Migration Office is a unit of the public administration in Switzerland that deals with processes in the area of migration . On January 1, 2015, the former Federal Office for Migration (FOM) became the State Secretariat for Migration (SEM). The Migration Office was created in 2005 with the merger of the Federal Office for Refugees (BFF) and the Office for Immigration, Integration and Emigration.
tasks
The main tasks of the migration office are:
- Immigration : Immigration by foreigners
- Emigration : emigration of residents
- Migration: Relocation of residents and foreigners in Germany (e.g. rural exodus , urban exodus )
However, the Migration Office is also responsible for other areas such as: work for EU / EEA citizens or other asylum seekers , protection from persecution, integration and naturalization.
