Miguel Mancera

Miguel Mancera Aguayo (born December 18, 1932 in Mexico City ) is a Mexican economist .

Miguel Mancera was Chairman of the Central Bank of Mexico between 1982 and 1998 . During his tenure, the current Mexican currency, the Nuevo Peso, was introduced .

In 1992 he was awarded the Premio Rey Juan Carlos , the highest honor for economists in the Spanish-speaking world.
