Miguel Santín del Castillo
Miguel Santín del Castillo (* 1830 in Ciudad San Vicente ; † 1880 ) was President of El Salvador from February 7, 1858 to January 19, 1859 .
Life
In May 1858 Santín del Castillo had the Academia Militar set up in San Salvador, where tactics for artillery , infantry and cavalry were taught. The commander in chief of the army was Gerardo Barrios . From June 24 to September 18, 1858, Castillo was represented by Barrios as president. Barrios filed a lawsuit against Castillo in order to seize the presidency. Knowing that he could not expect any support from Francisco Dueñas Díaz, Barrios had him deported to Guatemala .
