Mihai Buculei

Mihai Buculei (born December 22, 1940 in Mihoveni , Suceava ) is a Romanian sculptor and professor at the Bucharest Art Academy .

Life

Mihai Buculei studied sculpture at the Nicolae Grigorescu Art Academy and in Italy from 1964 to 1970 . He was a fellow of "Dimtrie Paciurea".

Buculei lives in Bucharest and has participated in many international symposia. Since 1980 he has been working on a monumental work in a forest clearing near Butenia / Arad.

In Germany he created important works in the public space in Beratzhausen in Bavaria. Bronze works: "Paracelsus" (probably the only sculpture of the miracle healer before Zehentstadel ), Argula von Stauff (militant reformer for Luther's ideas).

  • Bridge to Bliss (element in the sculpture park)
  • War memorial at the cemetery,
  • Tree of Life (Kindergarten St. Nikolaus),
  • Pantokrator (primary school courtyard)

He left many traces of his life's work in the “cultural capital of Romania in Bavaria” (according to the former Secretary of State for Culture Radu Borianu from Bucharest).
