history

Due to an administrative reform in 1922, the villages of Ebenau , Buchenau, Eschenborn , Mihlberg and Hahnroda were incorporated into Creuzburg. In 1925 this was partially reversed and the municipality of Buchenau was upgraded to an independent municipality with the districts of Ebenau, Eschenborn, Mihlberg and Hahnroda. This regional structure lasted until 1962, when Ebenau, Eschenborn and Mihlberg were again reassigned to Creuzburg. A few months later the small settlements of Eschenborn and Mihlberg were given up and the houses were demolished until 1964.
