Mija Aleksić ( Serbian - Cyrillic Мија Алексић ; born September 26, 1923 in Gornja Črnuca , Kingdom of Yugoslavia ; † March 12, 1995 in Belgrade , Serbia ) was a Yugoslav-Serbian actor.

Life

Aleksić attended high school in Kragujevac . At the age of 18 he witnessed the Kraljevo and Kragujevac massacres , in which the German Wehrmacht shot and killed over 2,000 Kragujevac residents at random. Shortly after the liberation of Kragujevac, Aleksić made his acting debut at the Knjaževsko-srpski teatar in Kragujevac and was a member of the theater company until 1948. He completed a law degree and was a member of the Yugoslav National Theater from 1951 to 1965. He then became a member of the Dramatic Theater in Belgrade and became a freelance artist in 1977.

Aleksić came to film in 1950 and made his screen debut in Muva . At the beginning he was mainly used in comedic roles in comedies and music films and became one of the first television stars in Yugoslavia. In later films, Aleksić was also in demand as a character actor.

Aleksić died in 1995 and was buried in the New Cemetery in Belgrade.

Awards

For his portrayal of Ujka Blagoje in Soja Jovanović 's film Doktor , Aleksić was awarded the Golden Arena for Best Actor at the 1962 Pula Film Festival (Festival igranog filma u Puli).
