Mikael Österberg (born March 14, 1986 in Tyresö ) is a Swedish ice hockey player who was last under contract with AIK Solna until 2011 .

Career

Mikael Österberg began his career as an ice hockey player in the youth department of the amateur club Stockholm / Vit before moving to the juniors of the AIK Solna in 2002 . For his professional team, the defender made his debut in the HockeyAllsvenskan , the second Swedish division, in the 2005/06 season . The left-handed shooter then fought for a regular place in the team and rose with his team to the Elitserien in the 2009/10 season . He contributed to this success with ten scorer points, including three goals, in 50 games of the main round, as well as an assist in ten games of the Kvalerien . In the 2010/11 season , however, he could not prevail in the Elitserien and completed only four games for AIK, while he was mainly used for Almtuna IS in the HockeyAllsvenskan as a loan player. After the season, his contract was not extended.
