Mike Burrows

Mike Burrows (* 1943) is a bicycle designer, best known for the design of the Lotus time trial bike by Chris Boardman with which he won a gold medal at the 1994 Olympic Games.

Burrows was involved in the development of recumbents for a long time . The Windcheetah (also called "Speedy") developed by him is very well known . More recent developments of single-track recumbents are the Ratcatcher, Ratracer and Ratracer B. In addition to recumbents, he devoted himself to the development of a folding bike (Halfway from Giant ) and a cargo bike (the 8-Freight).

In the 1990s Burrows worked for Giant where he developed the compact TCR road bike frame. Frequently found elements of his wheels are single-arm forks and swing arms, some of which are also sprung.

Burrows now lives in Norwich , England .
