Mike Hartmann (born August 5, 1983 ) is a German enduro athlete , European champion and multiple German enduro champion.

Athletic career

Mike Hartmann began his motorsport career in 1993. With a 60 cm³ Kawasaki he started in the German Motocross Championship and in the South German Motocross Championship and finished fifth and fourth respectively. In the following year he reached second place in the German championship and fifth in the southern German championship. He was also athlete of the year in his hometown of Heidenheim.

From 1995 Hartmann drove an 80s Kawasaki and came third in the German championship and second in the southern German championship. The following year he was third in the South German championship. He also took part in the ADAC MX Junior Cup. In 1997 he became champion of Baden-Württemberg.

In 1998 Mike Hartmann switched to KTM and rode machines with 125 cm³ and 250 cm³. He was able to score first points in the German Motocross Cup. In the following years he increased his performance, but could not achieve a decisive breakthrough. As a result of a vertebral and knee injury, he had to pause in the 2001 season until August. He then took part in the Motocross World Championship run in Gaildorf and took part in his first enduro races.

In 2002 Hartmann reached second place in the German Enduro Championship in the class up to 125 cm³ and ninth place in the international Enduro Championship. In the Württemberg championship he also came in second. The following year he was third in the German Enduro Championship and ninth in the Enduro Championship. At the same time he also started internationally. He finished second with his team in the European championship, at the international six-day race in Brazil he was fourth with the German junior team.

2004 was Mike Hartmann's most successful year to date. In the class up to 125 cm³ he became German Champion and Junior European Champion . He also won the Württemberg championship, was fourth with the team at the European championship and sixth in the enduro championship.

In the years 2005 to 2008 Hartmann was German enduro champion in class E 1 (up to 125 cm³ two-stroke / 250 cm³ four-stroke) and Württemberg champion. In the international enduro championship he was fifth, third and second. In 2005 he finished second with the team in the European Championship. At the Six Days 2006 he was fourth with the junior team in Taupo, New Zealand . After finishing twelfth in the 2005 World Cup, he finished eighth in 2006 and 2007.

In 2009 Mike Hartmann became German champion in class E2 (175 cm³ to 250 cm³ two-stroke / 290 cm³ to 450 cm³ four-stroke).
