Mikel Artetxe Gezuraga (born September 24, 1976 in Larrabetzu ) is a former Spanish cyclist .

Mikel Artetxe began his cycling career as a cyclocross rider , in 1997 and 1998 he became Spanish champion (U23) in this discipline. In 1999 he received a contract with the Basque cycling team Euskaltel-Euskadi . He celebrated his first success in road cycling in 2000 when he won two stages and the overall standings at the Grand Prix Jornal de Noticias . In 2001 he won a stage at the Ruta del Sol and the following year at the Grande Prémio Internacional de Torres Vedras . At his only Tour de France start in 2003 , he finished 80th overall. From 2006 onwards, Artetxe drove for the Spanish Professional Continental Team 3 Molinos Resort . In his first year there he won a stage at the Vuelta a Asturias , and in 2007 he ended his career at Fuerteventura-Canarias .
