Mikeska Ostrava is a Czech futsal club from Ostrava . He became Czech champion in 1997 and 1998.

Club history

Mikeska Ostrava is one of the most successful Czech futsal clubs . It was founded in 1993 when the players met in a pub called Mikeska . Under the sponsorship name Pragoclima Ostrava , the team won the second division season 1994/95 and rose to the first division. In the 1996/97 season, when the club had returned to its original name, Mikeska Ostrava, the team won the Czech championship and the Czech Cup. In the following season, the red-whites were able to defend the championship title. In 1999, Mikeska reached the semi-finals in the forerunner of the UEFA Futsal Cup , the European Champions Tournament, where they were eliminated 8-0 against eventual overall winner Dina Moscow .

Until 2001, the team played with the Czech top, then they fought more against relegation. The 2005/06 season was successful for Mikeska, in which the team reached the final, but lost there in the derby against CC Jistebník . In 2006/07, Mikeska failed in the play-off quarter-finals at Eco Investment Prague . A year later, Mikeska was relegated from the top division.
