Prince Micheil Sharwaschidze († 1866 ) was head of state of the Principality of Abkhazia from 1822 to 1864 .

At the time when Sharvashidze took power in Abkhazia, the region had only recently been declared a Russian protectorate , as a result of a manifesto by Tsar Alexander I from 1810. The Crimean War fell during Sharvashidze's reign from 1853 to 1855, in the course of which the Ottoman army invaded Abkhazia. Sharwashidze was made to pledge his loyalty to the Ottomans; In 1864 the Russians accused him of having cooperated with the Ottoman Empire. He was exiled to Voronezh (Russia) , where he died about two years later.
