Various microswitches

A microswitch is an electrical switch whose contacts are less than 3 mm apart when open. The housing is marked with the µ symbol. The microswitch with a snap system became particularly well known as a standard component in many electrical appliances .

Designs as NC and NO contacts are possible, as well as the design as changeover contact with the three connections NC contact, NO contact and switch tongue.

Due to the small contact distance, the microswitch is only suitable for switching low loads. It is most often used in displacement sensor or position switch arrangements on digital controls .
