Mila (unit)

Mila was a Polish measure of length and the name for the Polish mile .

One degree at the equator was equivalent to 20 mila for the so-called small and 15 for the large mile. The law was established on June 13, 1818, and came into force on February 1, 1819. The latter was the Polish post mile , also known as the geographical mile. This was 7507,4074 meters long.

In practice, the measure was divided into half (Pol mili), quarters (Cwierc mili) and half quarters (Pol cwerci mili) or eighths of a mile (Stale milowe).

  • 1 Mila = 8534.3114852 meters (also 8534.246 meters)
  • 1 mila (old mile) = 7146.466 meters
