The Mile End Park is a park in Mile End , a London neighborhood in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets . The elongated park with an area of ​​around 36 hectares is located on the site of a former industrial area that was destroyed by bombs in World War II . The park is bordered to the west by Regent's Canal , and to the north, separated by the Hertford Union Canal , is Victoria Park , which is more than twice as large .

Although the planning for a park began immediately after the end of the war, it was not concretized until the turn of the millennium . In 1999, near the Mile End underground station further east, a footbridge was built over Mile End Road , which cuts through the park in an east-west direction.
