Milfield Henge

The Bronze Age Milfield Henge is located on the Cheviot Hills , between Milfield and Doddington in Northumberland in England , near the stone circles of Duddo and Hethpool .

The relatively small Class 1 Henge , which was extensively excavated, burnt down in prehistoric times, was reconstructed by the Maelmin Heritage Center. A not very large round area is surrounded by a ditch. Wooden post rings were placed inside and outside the trench to highlight the structure.

A pit lined with stones and later filled in was found. One of the stones wore bowls ( English cups ). Stones inside the henge can belong to a stone box .
