Sawa military camp

The Sawa military camp is a military training center in the Gash-Barka region in Eritrea , where the Eritrean armed forces conduct basic military training for Eritrean conscripts. Since 2003, the 12th year of schooling has been compulsory for all secondary school students in Sawa. 10,000 to 25,000 students are recruited each year. For the majority of graduates, military service is followed by the civilian national service (“Community Service”). B. in administration, in education or in national development projects and is often referred to as compulsory service.

The duration of the Community Service can be extended up to the age of 50.
