Kaunas Military Aviation School

Military Aviation School Kaunas ( lit.Karo aviacijos mokykla ) was a military educational institution in 1919 and from 1932 to 1940 in the Lithuanian (then) capital Kaunas . The special school prepared the army aviators.

history

In 1919 there was the first series of military pilots and spies to graduate . The first school teachers were mostly the German pilots and a Lithuanian military pilot Pranas Hiksa (1897-1966).

In 1932 the Air War School was reopened. There were classes for officers and NCOs . The training lasted two years. The graduates were given the rank of second level pilot. In 1937 the school was expanded. Air rifle shooters and mechanics were also prepared . The training then lasted three years. From 1932 to 1940 the school was run by V. Reymont. The military aviation school was abolished on October 18, 1940 after the Soviet occupation.
