Military Ordinary
The military ordinary (often also called military bishop ) has been in charge of the special church district Military Ordinary of the Roman Catholic Church as a spiritual dignitary since the reorganization of military pastoral care by the Apostolic Constitution Spirituali militum curae of April 21, 1986 .
The military ordinary is appointed or confirmed by the Pope and belongs to the national conference of bishops . As a rule, the military ordinary is awarded the dignity of a bishop and enjoys all the rights of the diocesan bishops and is bound by their obligations.
Jurisdiction is also exercised if the persons belonging to the military ordinariate are outside the national borders
- neat, both inside and out
- autonomous, but cumulative with the jurisdiction of the diocesan bishop .
