Milton Jiménez Puerto

Milton Jiménez Puerto (born November 8, 1961 ) is a lawyer and was the Foreign Minister of Honduras from January 27, 2006 to January 3, 2008 . He is a member of the Partido Liberal de Honduras (PL) of President José Manuel Zelaya Rosales , which he joined in 1985.

Jiménez Puerto studied law at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de Honduras as well as in Spain, Costa Ricam, Italy and Brazil. He is a specialist in criminal law and human rights.

As a politician, he is particularly committed to human rights, especially the rights of women, children and the urban fringes.

For the Instituto Interamericano de Derechos Humanos (Inter-American Institute for Human Rights) he carried out research on gender discrimination in labor, criminal and family law in Central America.

He has appeared as a witness and advocate for victims at the Corte Interamericana de Derecho Humanos (Inter-American Court of Human Rights).
