history
Milwaukee Iron (2009-2010)
The franchise was founded as Milwaukee Iron in 2008 and started in af2 in 2009 . The Iron ended the season with 5 wins and 11 losses and missed the playoffs.
When af2 broke up after the 2009 season, the Iron started in the Arena Football League (AFL).
In their first season they moved into the semifinals, but failed there with 57:60 due to the Spokane Shock . After the season, the Iron announced the renaming of the team name to Milwaukee Mustangs. The reasons are said to have been mainly financial, as the Mustangs at that time were very popular with fans and well over 10,000 spectators flocked to the home games on average.
Milwaukee Mustangs (2011-2012)
The plan failed in the first game, when only 3,157 spectators made the way to the home game against the Chicago Rush . In the end, the Mustangs had to announce an average attendance of just 3,953, the fourth lowest in the league.
But the season was also unsuccessful in terms of sport. The team missed the postseason in both seasons.
After the 2012 season, the franchise dissolved.
