Mine effect
Explosives or projectiles with mine action are all explosive weapons that cause their destructive effect primarily through the detonation wave ( pressure wave ) that occurs during the explosion and whose fragmentation effect is rather low.
Mine-effect explosives have a relatively thin shell and contain a high proportion of explosives. Examples are air mines , mine ammunition for machine guns and mortars thrown throw mines. In contrast, there are, for example, explosive devices with fragmentation effects or impact projectiles .
Not to be confused with land mines , explosives with mine effect are usually fired or dropped and detonated by impact ignition.
