Schneckenstein Mineral Center

The Vogtland-Bohemian Mineral Center Schneckenstein is a museum located in the Vogtland near Schneckenstein in the municipality of Muldenhammer . It is an institution of Vogtland Kultur GmbH.

The indoor area includes a large mineral and mining exhibition , a separate cabinet with fluorescent minerals and glass products ( uranium glass ), and a natural history museum with live animals (including locusts and a curly haired tarantula ). In a gemstone cutting shop you can see how stones are cut or tumbled. The herb kitchen offers a variety of dried plants from the herb garden, which can be viewed together with the maze and animal enclosures in the outdoor area.

Topaz room

On June 11th, 2009 the Topas room was opened by District Administrator Tassilo Lenk . In addition to a lot of information, it has over 300 topaz finds from all over the world, including snail stones . It was created based on the amber room and the neighboring topaz rock.
