The Minerva Point is a headland on the south coast of Livingston Island in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . It is located 3 km northeast of Binn Peak on the southeast side of the Hurd Peninsula and protrudes into False Bay .
The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 2018. It is named after the sealer Minerva from London , who operated under Captain Thomas Bunn (1794–1882) between 1820 and 1821 in the waters around the South Shetland Islands.
