The Hurd Peninsula is a peninsula on the south coast of Livingston Island in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . It separates South Bay to the west from False Bay to the east.
The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named them in 1961 after Thomas Hannaford Hurd (1747-1823), from 1808 to 1823 second hydrograph of the British Admiralty and member of the Board of Longitude .
